New official disease status and control program recognized by the OIE
Countries achieve new disease statuses for classical swine fever and foot and mouth disease, declared by the OIE.

Due to the global exceptional circumstances linked to the COVID-19 pandemic, the OIE General Session has been cancelled this year. Nevertheless, the Resolutions pertaining to the recognition of OIE official status and the endorsement of official control programmes for eligible diseases have been maintained, considering the very important role that they play in the import-export economy of OIE Members.Croatia, Kazakhstan, and Malta have been recognized as free from classical swine fever. One zone in Chinese Taipei (Thailand) has been declared free from foot and mouth disease where vaccination is not practiced. Brazil (one zone) and Colombia (four zones) have been declared free from FMD as well, but where vaccination is practiced.
In addition, the official control programme for FMD of Kyrgyzstan was endorsed.
