On April 17, 2019, the 5th China-Europe Pig Development Conference and ASF Prevention and Control Conference was held in Nanning, Guangxi Province. With the theme of "Prevention and Control of African Swine Fever", this conference invited more than 300 guest, including authoritative experts, business leaders from home and abroad and experienced frontline practitioners. It launched in-depth discussions and thought collisions on topics as pig farm biosafety, feed safety, effective external connection of pig farms, prevention and control of swine diseases, and future development trend of industry in the non-plague era. |

"Experience sharing of biosafety in Germany" The first bio-safety barrier on the farm is the vehicle decontamination center. It is recommended to adopt the “first-class isolation zone” design. The layout should focus on: dividing the dirty and clean areas, the number of cleaning vehicles and the time of one cleaning, the time and temperature of drying and disinfecting a car, etc. About the size of the building, it is necessary to consider the length and width of the cleaning and drying rooms as well as the control room for the washing and drying equipment. In cleaning vehicles, pay special attention to the vehicle chassis and tires, the middle and top of the vehicle, and also pay attention to the temperature and difference between cold water cleaning and hot water cleaning, the gun, lance, and angel of the nozzle, and the water consumption and labor costs of washing one car. In the drying and disinfection of vehicles, we must know that our purpose is to disinfect rather than dry, we must pay attention to the three points of time, frequency, temperature, but also pay attention to the choice of disinfection equipment, preferably with a high degree of automation, long service life, automatic detection and flame adjustment. The second bio-safety barrier on the farm is the simple decontamination of the guards. It is recommended that the farm build a closed disinfection shed to disinfect the vehicle by misting. In addition, the farm should also pay attention to the following aspects of disinfection, which is relatively easy to be ignored: 1. Thoroughly clean and disinfect the work area at least once a day; 2. Unwashed rubber shoes should be immersed for at least 30 minutes in the disinfectant; 3. Each time transfering the group, give your pig a "SPA"; 4. Wash and disinfect the pig passages and platforms; 5. The public area where the body is stored shall be disinfected; 6. All tools must be cleaned and disinfected after the cleaning of the pens are completed and placed in separate areas. |

"Experience and thoughts for prevention and control of African swine fever" The five key points of AFS prevention and control in Russia and Europe are pig transport vehicles, pig farm related personnel, vehicle decontamination checklists, sick or dead pig management, and feed safety management. On the pig transport vehicle, how to quickly wash and wash more has become a concern instead of the strict car washing process. It is recommended to set up a vehicle decontamination center. The decontamination room of the feed transport vehicle must be dried for more than 20 minutes after disinfection. At the same time, the pig farm should implement strict vehicle management and control. All vehicles should be transported according to the prescribed routes examined by veterinary departments. Vehicles must have GPS tracking equipment, and implement full-range tracking and real-time updating. External traffic is not allow to enter the pig farm transport transfer station. If this is not possible, build a transport ramp that is as long as possible. In pig farm personnel, the entrance of them must be isolated from the outside world. It is necessary to formulate the shower procedures for the entry personnel, 2 hours of UV and fumigation cycle disinfection. Besides, install CCTV monitoring in each contact area. In the management of sick and dead pigs, we must consider that all sick and dead pig transport vehicles are ASF-positive, and the farm needs to avoid the instability caused by transporting dead pigs. In feed management, don't think that high-temperature made feed is the terminator of ASF. If there is potential African swine fever virus in the environment of feed factories, such as feed bags, workers, feed trucks, shoes, brooms, dust and so on, feed may be re-infected at any time. |
