Ukraine has limited imports of German pork due to ASF

According to the official information of the European Union (through the Animal Disease Notification System - ADNS), on September 10, 2020, a case of African swine fever (ASF) among wild pigs was recorded in the Federal Republic of Germany (Brandenburg, Spree-Neisse).

This is reported by the State Food and Consumer Service.
This is the first confirmed case of ASF in Germany.
“Taking into account the recommendations of the Terrestrial Animal Health Code of the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) and the legislation of Ukraine, in order to prevent the introduction of the causative agent of this disease into the territory of Ukraine, the order of the Chief State Veterinary Inspector of Ukraine dated September 10, 2020 introduced restrictions on the import into Ukraine from the Federal Republic Germany of animals susceptible to ASF, genetic material and products from them (with the exception of products that have undergone the necessary processing in accordance with the requirements of Ukrainian legislation), ”the State Food and Consumer Service said.
It should be reminded that Belarus has introduced a temporary ban on the supply of pork from Ivano-Frankivsk region due to African swine fever (ASF).
